Work From Home As A Caregiver To Adults with Developmental Disabilities

Would you like to work from your own home or apartment as an independent contractor while caring for adults with developmental disabilities? You can earn a competitive monthly stipend and have most of your daytime hours to yourself while truly making a difference in someone's life! Our Mentors come from all walks of life including retired people, couples, singles and families with children and they come from all ethnic groups and backgrounds. Our program is perfect for people who work part time, have a home business or who want the flexibility of being a caregiver in their own home.
Do you have caregiving experience or the desire to learn new skills? IHSS, RN's, LVN's, CNA's, Psyche-Techs, Day Program workers, etc. . . we are looking for you!
Do you have experience working with the developmentally disabled? Teachers, Aids, former foster parents, etc. You have the skills and abilities that we are looking for!
Do you have one or two extra bedrooms in your home or apartment? (Please note that you need a separate basic furnished bedroom for each client)
Do you have a clear criminal background, access to a car a good driving record and are at least 21 years of age?
California MENTOR is an adult Family Home Agency that has been providing services and supports to adults with developmental disabilities since 1997. Due to immediate need, we are looking for good Mentor homes all over San Francisco and San Mateo Counties.
We will provide all of the support and training at no cost and we can get you certified and ready to welcome clients in about 30 days. After certification, you would provide supervision and care in your own home to adults with special needs and we would provide a variety of supports and other services. The monthly stipends range per client/month depending on the level of care needed. For example, some clients are very independent and need only minimal support while other clients need hands on help with activities like eating, bathing and dressing. We have clients of all ages from 18yrs. on up and with a variety of needs. Once certified, we will match you up with the right client or clients (max. 2 per home) to ensure the best possible fit for them and for your family.
Mentors are considered self-employed and their monthly stipends have not been considered taxable income!
Our Information Sessions are on Tuesday's from 11am to 12pm and on Thursday's from 5pm to 6pm in San Mateo.
